A skilled administrator and philanthropist named Sri M. Prabakar Reddy Garu established the institution in 2006 with the goal of empowering local rural students through education and employment.
The institution is affiliated with JNTU Anantapur. Accredited by NAAC with A-Grade, 2(f) Recognition from UGC. The institution offers 6 UG and 6 PG programmes and is located on National Highway NH42.
The institute upholds strict academic standards by offering a wide range of infrastructure and academic facilities. The institution is well known for its charitable endeavors in addition to its regular academic pursuits.
To encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in Viswam Engineering College, Institute frequently organises events
and workshops on innovation and entrepreneurship, idea generation, intellectual property rights, etc. The institute
has sufficient workspace for students and faculty to work on innovative ideas. The Centre of Excellence on Robotics
provides a platform to work on robotics. The institute has well-established academic labs that can be used for
developing and testing prototypes. College having high-speed internet facilities and meeting rooms, seminar rooms for
presentations that are effectively used for entrepreneurship-related activities. The institute is having an AICTE-Idea Lab
Network; through this lab, students innovative ideas can get funding from AICTE. The institute has been recognized
as HI-MSME to promote and support untapped creativity and to promote the adoption of the latest technologies in
MSME that seeks the validation of their ideas at the proof of concept level.
